Four months. It had been four months since I saw Grace and it was finally time to embark on our three week trip through Europe together. After a small hiccup in her arrival date we were finally reunited. We spent the first day in Rome and then we were off to our first destination. Before talking with Grace about planning our trip, I had never really thought of going to Amsterdam but with her Dutch blood and excitement to connect with a bit of her heritage, it seemed like an obvious decision to explore.
We were only there for a day and a half but the time we had was filled with the Dutch hospitality and charm of the beautiful canal city. The food was warm and comforting and we would both agree that we had the best cup of coffee at a small café called Scandinavian Embassy. Most of the people spoke English and made it a priority to make us feel at home.
Looking back now we both wish we had a few extra days in Amsterdam but our next destination would come to be our favorite for many reasons. I hope you enjoy the photos from Amsterdam. There are going to be more portraits than usual in the next couple blog posts due to being reunited with my favorite subject! To say that were were excited would be an understatement! Stay tuned for my next blog from Scotland.
